A Green Lens is a community-based collaborative project developed in partnership with Groundwork San Diego and King Chavez High School. Funding was provided for this project by Cuyamaca College Green Ventures Program.
As part of the workforce training program at King Chavez High, 27 seniors spent 4 weeks exploring their career interests and connection to the environment through introduction to green career professionals, exploration, and discussion of ecological resources in their community. Students documented the experience and shared their reflections through a photojournalism project.
Collaborators included Local Point of View Guide Training & EcoTours and Outside the Lens. Local Point of View provided program development, coordination, and instructional support in ecology/green careers on behalf of Groundwork San Diego. Outside the Lens provided instructional support in photography along with media support through use of their lab space.
